Dot Day

International Dot Day is a special occasion where students are motivated to create artwork in the shape of a circle or dot, using their imagination and creativity. The event is inspired by a book called "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. To participate in this activity, we were given a coffee filter, a paper plate, and various art supplies such as watercolor paints, oil-based crayons, regular crayons, watercolor crayons, and sharpies. We were encouraged to experiment and come up with our own unique designs. I personally utilized a combination of crayons, watercolor crayons, and watercolor paints to produce two art pieces for Dot Day.

An alternative activity that I could organize for my students on Dot Day is to have them draw and color their own picture using dots exclusively. Subsequently, I would display their artwork on the wall surrounding a copy of the book.
